I too recieved a text message from this number (2039034841) because of something I was selling on Craigslist. It had very similar wording to those emails from the scam artists who ask if the item is still available but never mention the item by name.
I too just got one from this number responding to a craigslist item. Same BS about needing a name and address for a Certified bank check to arrive via USPS and that a "private shipping agent" would pick it up after the check cleared. Is there a way to report this number?
I also received a text from this same number 203-903-4841. Similar message as Cap'n above. It started out saying "Hi this is Justin i saw your item on craig Bristol at Night...and I would like to know if still available and last asking price. Thanks". later..."Got your text i am okay with the price and also will be paying you via Certified Bank Check which will get to you via USPS so i will need your names and address to mail out the payment. Also i will arrange the shipment via my private shipping agent. they will come pick up the item after the check clears at your bank and have cash in hand. Thanks".
