Sent me a text using the name "Michael Anthony" asking if I did web design. When I told him yes, they gave me the standard money-laundering scam spiel - which thankfully I have never fallen for. Small business, wanting to turn into a large business and need a website (this one for kola, nut, gacillia nut, and cocao). They have a site they want you to copy, and make "more perfect, if possible" (seriously they ALL use the exact same wording with few tweaks). And of course, they want to know if you take credit card because they have a sub-contractor (usually a graphic designer) who doesn't take credit card, so is it ok if they give me more than my quote, and I'll send a check for the sub-contractors cost, and lucky me, I get to keep the extra. Total scam. It's money laundering using a stolen card number. You send a check, which is how they get paid (surprise! their sub-contractor is them!), while you lose ALL the money they paid you, because it was fraudulently charged.
Same number sent me a text with the name "Jack Lio". He first wanted us to train his 4 dogs (puppies) for 2 months. As we progressed through the sale, he wanted to know if we take credit cards. He said the dogs would be delivered by a driver and asked if if he could pay us more and if we could send a check for the substantial fee to the driver as he has not way of accepting credit cards. Very similar to the report above, just a different business. Be careful if you get a text from this number and never let anyone pay you more to send someone else money.
