The government does not call people up and offer them free money because you paid your taxes on time, have never been arrested, have paid all your bills, or whatever excuse they can make up. In order to get a grant you need a valid reason (not one of the above and not just because you need money), you have to fill out tons and tons of paperwork, wait a long time, and might not even get the grant in the end. If you are lucky enough to get the grant after all that paperwork, they do not ask you to pay taxes, transfer fees, or any other types of fees. Also, please note that the government would never ask you to pay these so called taxes or fees to some anonymous person using Western Union, Moneygram, or any of the cards such as iTunes cards which is a new favorite among foreign scammers.
Thanks for the info. I got a similar call and they gave me those exact reasons you mentioned as to why I'm receiving grant from the gov't. And the person said the offer will expire that same day she called me. When I asked why they're giving the offer over the phone and not just send the offer by mail, she hung up.
The "U.S. Federal Grant Department" called me from 206-112-9611 (from India no doubt) telling me that I was "elected from the government to receive $7000" for being a "good citizen". Gave me a code then said to collect the money I must call "funding director" Steven Jackson at 202-212-1710. I looked up the 202 number in "whitepages.com" and it came up as a guy named FRED MOMAYEZ age 64 in Washington DC. Today was the second time they called me. I received a call on Wednesday 12/14 and was awarded $8000.00.
