Just got the same call last night (at 5:50pm) - robot-sounding voice - saying that the IRS is suing me and that there is a "non-bailable arrest warrant" out for me. Did not bother to call back, because the IRS will not try to arrest you without visiting in-person first.
Total scam.
just got a call from 206-201-2282, said there was a non-bailable warrant out for my arrest for unpaid taxes and to call the number back immediately. Obviously a dirty scam, I've been doing income taxes for over 65 years without any problems-- and whoever is doing it should be arrested. This call had gone to my answering machine and I will not return the call
My God, what has the world come to. When someone is struggling to make ends meet, and they get a call that the IRS is out for them it freaks you out. Thankfully, one starts to realize things such as the heavy accented person on the other line whose name is Paul Miller. Offering you a major discount on what you owe. Amounts changed as he went along. Yes he said officers will be at your door in 2.5 hrs. It seems these bozos are getting change of address information and using that as their bait to convince you, that is why you did not receive information about the lawsuit or arrest warrant. Also they asked that if you have to borrow the money from someone, to not tell what its for or it will nullify your N.O.C. (Code for agreement they're making with you on the phone). I must admit I bought into it at first, but thankfully my logic kicked in. Be careful and pass this along to your friends and family, so that more people are made aware and don't accidentally provide important information to these clowns. And with regards to these people being caught, its been happening since last year so go figure
Got the same robot call on my answering machine from 206-201-2282. BainbridgeI Wa. On 2/24. Figured it was a scam as IRS never calls. They always notify by mail. Why haven't they gone after these people impersonating a government agency.?
