You should have heard my conversation with them when my wife came crying. The same guy answered the phone, but little does he know I work in cyber security for a $3 billion/year company. I was more furious because I forgot to delete the message, but had to explain to my wife how they knew it was her. Information about you is EVERYWHERE especially land records. Not hard to find. After the same guy answered 3 times, I asked how understaffed the IRS was due to him answering every time. Then a woman answered my 4th call back, to which I said to go to hell. My wife was in awe that I was talking to them like that on the off chance I was wrong......but I wasn't and I knew they were bouncing VoIP calls using Magic Jack. Typical and also a 3rd gentleman yanked the phone away from the woman so I put the phone on speaker and he didn't like how I was talking to this lady. I won't post it here because it is full of expletives. The guy told me my wife could hold his appendage and when I started saying "Thank you....you proved my point scumbag" he kept saying "la la la la la" like a little kid closing his ears to drown me out. I will find their location and will be doing extra work so that people with less knowledge have people fighting the good fight. Many of my co-workers will do the same. We bait these people and actually reverse the trend. Knowledge is power and they are dumber than a box or rocks, but to the layperson they seem legitimate. Great job with all reporting this. Same number by the way. Bainbridge Island, WA.
The number to the incoming call first appeared on the display as 20 62 012 362; caller from Egypt. When I switched over to the phone function to retrieve the voice message the number appeared as 206 201-2362 (area code Seattle, Washington). The message was a message about an IRS lawsuit, obviously a SCAM. What is an alerting concern is that the incoming call first showed it was from Egypt. DO NOT accept or respond to phone calls from this number.
Told me a warrant was already out for my arrest. I've had no prior communication from them (or legitimate IRS). Hope you get 'em; it's a particularly disgusting scam and IRS is already an unfairly berated (though desperately needed) policing presence.
Got a computer generated phone call saying the I.R.S. was starting a law suit & for more info. I should call 206-201-2362. 206 is from the state of Wa. Needless to say, I didn't call.
