They call my sisters phone everyday (7-days a week, including holidays). These guys are using VOIP (voice over internet protocol), They can only call certain times during the day because at times they will have problems hearing us or we can't hear them because of bad connection. VOIP is used most often when they make international calls because there is no charge. That's why these guys has a foreign accent if you do get to hear them speak. There foreigners assume the U.S. citizens are dumb and think they can scam us to support them by threatening and accusing us for alleged fraud, payday loan payments, etc. They prey on folks who makes payday loans online, or folks who applied to consolidate loans or debts online. They will try to scare you & threaten you to pay or they will send out the police. Don't fall for their threats! Tell them to send the police. I've called them back several times and they don't ever answer. Don't ever pay anything over the phone or online. First of all if you have or had a outstanding debt or payday loan, the collectors will try to contact you. If they are unsuccessful they will contact an attorney and you will receive an affidavit from the attorney or courts. If you are employed, they will garnish your check if you do not resolve the debt. I work with an attorney and there are procedures. In the U.S. our courts or law offices do not call and threaten us citizens. We need to show these foreigners that we are not stupid.
Number keeps calling asking for Leslie who does not live here. this last time actually called me a MF'r, The man said he worked for Payday Loans (generic name I suppose)
