Never had this happen with Amazon before... very strange. But I'm in my home office on the phone and the door bell rings around 9:50 am, not once but three times in a row. I'm on the phone with a client, so I'm not answering. I hear pounding at the door all the way upstairs where my office is and more constant ringing of the doorbell. I head downstairs now because this has got to be serious (an emergency, you would logically conclude). As I'm heading downstairs (on the phone with my client), the house phone now starts to ring. I later check caller ID and it says "Amazon Fresh Direct" with this number (206) 240-0130... wow! When I tell my client to hold on and swing open the door, it's a local Amazon delivery person (with their Enterprise rented van outside) handing me a small Amazon envelop, which after opening contains a blackhead remover that is no larger than a nail clipper which my wife had ordered. My question is this... What would have happened if I weren't home because she sounded like she was going to break the door down. And what's with the phone call??? I never ever had this happen with a delivery from Amazon before in 12 years! Very unprofessional. She didn't even ask me to sign for it. I told her why didn't you just leave it? She said have a nice day. Too aggressive and totally unnecessary. I get many packages delivered from Amazon (sometimes 2-3 times a week) and they just ring and leave them. The phone call part still amazes me. Just complete overkill. Amazon's third-party delivery service including their use of USPS on Sundays has been noticeably sub-par. But nothing like today. Usually the third-party delivery service is late.
