I have a feeling that it is much worse than people trying to sell magazines. I googled Amazon customer service telephone number b/c I had been having trouble ordering. I called this number as it was listed for Amazon. The guys talked to me a long time, had me go through steps on my computer, asked for email address and asked me to type in password. He then wanted me to do more things on the computer but I started feeling like it wasn't Amazon. He put on his supervisor and I asked both guys if it was Amazon customer service and they said it was. I think it is an identity theft thing. They also wanted to know if I did on line banking. They both told me I was being hacked by someone living in Germany.
CID said AMAZON. Caller was trying to get me to renew a magazine subscription, but they had called several times over the past few days, hanging up when I answered. I told them to go _ themselves. Rude woman just kept on with her spiel and would not listen. I don't think it was really Amazon.
I also had this number call me, claiming my husband needed to pay for his magazine subscription or he would lose the free deal. Husband said he never renewed the subscription. When I don't answer, I get an immediate call from cell phone 424-288-0657. Internet searches suggest it's also a scam.
Calls from this number (appears as Amazon) saying that I owe for a magazine that I never ordered. They claim I owe hundreds of dollars and the are going to charge my credit card. i reported it to Amazon...it is a scam.
