calling me saying I owe money for payday loan "sometime before Aug 2010", can't give a date He gave me a website, called them, they match people up with lenders. Supervisor looked in database with 100 websites they deal with and could not find me in the system. This person who called me is threatening lawsuit and have cops come to my house and have me arrested. Also claims to be an attorney. He has a really bad accent and I can only understand about 1/3 of what he says.
This is a scam. It is illegal to threaten arrest when collecting debt. The Better Business Bureau has released many alerts on this scam, google "bbb.org alert phony debt collector" Scams mutate so read all the alerts to get a flavor of what they are.
