Caller was a man with a thick accent claiming to be from the "Department Of State". Said I was approved for $4,800 in "financial assistance."

Told him I wasn't interested, and hung up.

Received a call from 206-317-1214 claiming to be from Federal State Dept. He said I was selected to Receive 4,800 a month for 5 Years . HANG UP. He was a man with heavy accent saying I pay my taxes on time so I was selected.

I don't remember an accent. However, told me I was selected for up to $4,000 a month for the next 6 months to pay off debts. I hung up.

The only debt I have is my mortgage, and my current loan provider has no knowledge of this offer.

He called me 10+ times. Also, called my father 6 times. He never picked up.

Total scam.  Loan scam originating in India.  There is no loan.  They try to scam you for upfront fees.  Which are totally illegal in most American states.

Called several times but left no message. I called the number back and was informed by my phone service provider that it was not a valid phone number. They called me again the next day and I was able to answer it this time. They asked for me by first name, but I told them they had the wrong number, since when I tried to return their call I couldn't. I don't deal with people I can't openly contact on my own, and I despise dealing with people who refuse to leave a message if I miss their call. Hopefully they don't call back.
