No call - had a charge of $11.89 on my husband's card from Crystal Clear Designs. As others have said we never heard of this company or made any kind of order. We immediately called the bank and had the card cancelled/reported as stolen, we will be closing the account (because it is rarely used anyway... the card hadn't been used for about six months when this charge was made), and filed a dispute for all the charges to be removed. I also went and deleted all our information from any online vendors we have used, or currently used, just to be on the safe side. We generally only use Amazon though. I also just got done filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about this. I don't know if Amazon is somehow connected to this, but it DOES seem that online vendors are somehow connected. There are lots of other sites that seem to be forums about this as well - it's DEFINITELY a SCAM, no doubt about that! I just don't understand why they haven't been stopped or caught if there are SO MANY of us who have had this happen and reported it!! You'd think they'd have shut these people down and thrown them in jail already! I didn't call the 206# connected to the company, simply because I found this forum and figured it would be pointless to try anyways. I am half tempted to call them, though, just so I can leave a NASTY message and cuss them out. I'm so angry over this, and just hope that my husband hasn't become a victim of identity theft because of this. Thankfully the card is cancelled, and the bank is aware it was a fraudulent charge, and once we are able to close the account (not easy for us to do because we are 9 hours away from the closest branch) that should hopefully minimize the risk even more.
Hang in there everyone! Hopefully these A**HOLES are caught soon!
I'm just so mad I had to write again. I got the Crystal Clear Design charge last month and I called the credit card company and they said they would take off the charge but they didn't. So now I have a late fee and have to make a lot more calls to deal with this. All because some a**hole is an evil little thief.
I too got hit with the fraudulent charge of $11.89 from Crystal Clear Designs. I've since canceled my debit card and should be receiving a new one soon. I found it interesting that as I was checking my account activity online the phone no. came up as 120-63198144 for this transaction. This made it hard for me to distinguish that it was an actual phone number for the vendor and not some type of transaction confirmation number. I'm still trying to figure out how these scam artists can pull this off so well. Guess anything's possible these days.
We got hit for $12.79 by Crystal Clear Designs, same phone number, etc....my bank issued a credit and is giving us a new account number. How do they get our numbers? We haven't used this card in a few months, it had a $0 balance. What bank do you all have? We have Bank of America.
