You know what happens when you're going to be arrested? You get arrested. Do you know how often you get WARNED before your arrest? Never. If you're going to be arrested, law enforcement is going to show up and arrest you. There's no amount of money you can pay to get out of it. Litigation and fees would come AFTER the arrest. This is all BS, and it's a total scam. I can almost guarantee that they're just calling as many random numbers as they can to try and get to someone gullible and vulnerable, like the elderly. It's very sad, and deviant and evil. But seriously - no one calls you to warn you of your arrest. This is just garbage.
If you have filed bankruptcy and receive one of these calls, you can report it to the Office of the United States Trustee of the U.S. Department of Justice. http://www.justice.gov/ust/
I just received a similar phone call. I have no idea what loan he is even talking about. I quickly contacted my attorney's office and I also gave the gentleman that called my attorney's name and phone number. Let's see what happens.
This happened to my mother today. Worst part is she has a history of mini strokes. The stress caused her to have an attack and put her in the hospital. If anyone has any pertinent information on these guys it would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure if this info can help anyone on this site. But sadly, these people are another debt collection agency. They use these scare tactics to make you pay faster. Like another blogger mentioned, you cant be charged criminally. With that being said, I took out a payday loan through Davance America back in 2007. It went into collections and I paid it in 2010. I held onto my prrof of payment and letter stating that the account was paid in full. Afterwards, I received a summons in the mail from an attorney's office representing AA, called them and explained that I had already paid the debt and faxed them a copy. They later dismissed it. 6 months later another law firm contacted me trying to collect on it and again I provided them with proof of payment and they dismissed as well. Now comes this company calling saying there issuing a warrant for my arrest. I told them I work for a criminal court and they are full of [***]. Needless to say, I provided them with proof of payment as well and they stopped calling me. Dont let these people threats scare you. They will say aniything to make you pay a debt.
