I live in Midwest... I agree with Jim in Maryland. Called just after 8am in morning. Would have been after 6am their time. Anyways didn't answer call. Called them back on my cell phone to see who would answer. Sounded like a guy from India with heavy accent pretending to be with IRS. I know our taxes are paid in full. They don't contact you by phone anyway. They would send you a letter about any issues they might have with you and your taxes. Oh brother... Will the scammers ever cease....or get a real life and work for a living like the rest of us!!!!!
Another call, similar to 469-212-8030 calls, same tail-end of message left on voice mail with synthesized voice, something about "filing against you" and giving call back number. Three calls today, one from this number and two from the other number, which has a number of reports with more details on the calls. Apparently scammers identifying as IRS.
Add me to the list. Unlike 99% of bogus calls, this one left the message about the IRS filing a lawsuit. (1) The IRS does not notify people by phone; by regular mail only. (2) I received the call at 9:10 a.m. EDT. It would have been 6:10 am in Seattle! I don't think the IRS works that early. 800Notes needs to add another category to call type: Scam Call.
call from "... revenue services" saying that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me, and I need to call the number given. Whole message is in rough female mechanical voice. Filed complaint with FTC & my state consumer protection agency.
