I believe the new number is 818-582-5056. I just got it and I typed in the phrase as above and found this number. I have a girl that left a message so I didn't get the name, but the verbiage is IDENTICAL And well, the IRS has been calling me several times a week, usually a foreigner, which struck me as 'odd.' I don't answer my phone, I get a recording attached to an email. I said something to my automobile dealer and he laughed, said first they will send you a CERTIFIED letter, possibly a two times if you ignore the first and don't pick it up from the post office. Then they will call the house IN PERSON, so they can make sure they have the right house, the right person, yadda yadda. I so wanted to ask him, how he knew this. But I remember talking to the IRS once, because I didn't fill a tax return, can't remember if they just called, a real person or sent a letter, but they were happy to tell me to whom they wanted to speak, a live person. They were very, very nice, then I told them that I'd received the rebate check in this amount, dated approximately, cashed on this date, the reply was oh my god, we're so sorry, you're right, COULD YOU send us a copy of your tax return as we seem to have misplaced it. I replied not a problem.
But I did watch a video I think from here when I looked at another number, from a guy that figures best way to beat them is to call them back and spend an hour asking questions and giving them a hard time. The guy he talked to after getting tongued tied several times, hung up on him! :)
PS: There's three taxpayers in this household, so giving a name is not confidential, NOR is who is calling. But seriously, the IRS is going to use a MACHINE? And my taxes are done by an accountant with a PhD in tax law...
SCAM They called and left this message
"Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on our department number 206-395-3667. I repeat 206-395-3667. Thank you."
Same message as above, but some of it was broken English. It appeared to be an electronic voice.

Left the same message as already posted. Called them back and told me I owed thousands of dollars for 2014 tax return. Said that they already sent the paperwork 3 times. Definitely this is a scam. H&R Block does our taxes. Could not understand the name of the company because deep foreign accent.
