They called, no one would answer. I called the number back. Their answering machine claims they are ORC Research Company representing several large financial institutions. The answering machine choices do not link to any live person, the machine will make a lame statement and hang up. One of the two options claims you can enter your number to have it removed from their call list, but if you enter a number the line goes dead, nothing happens. Highly suspicious behavior; they are most likely a scam or at the very least, extremely unprofessional. I would not give them the time of day! Screen the calls out, block them if you can. They are a waste of time. Telephone terrorism, how low some stoop for a buck? Sad!
Rcvd a call a short while ago from this number on caller ID, saying Seattle, WA call. Answered it (because have some relatives in Seattle) and a recording said it was a courtesy call (no name identity given) and left a phone number with an area code starting with 7- definitely not in Washington State. I won't be answering this caller id number again.
I called them back late at night and a recorded message says something like they were a marketing firm or something and then they give you 2 choices: push 1 for marketing info, push 2 and you get a do not call number to call. Really strange.
Spoke to them - ORC Protail Research Company out of Chicago IL "got my name, phone and address from several sources including driver license, phone book and other sources" They are doing a SURVEY for local radio companies. Asked age, gave me my own address and wanted to know radio stations listen to. They had more questions - but I stopped them. Asked to be on a NO CALL List - was told they do NOT have any such list because they are "doing a survey" not a telemarketing company.
