i got a call from this number at approx10:53 a.m. the person on theother end was talking rather fast. informing me to call back with my atty in hand, a complaint was filed against me with the irs. if i did not call back consequences would be on me. call today.it said
Caller had an Indian accent and said he was a representative of the IRS working in coordination with local police department. This was my final chance to straighten out questions and debt against me by the gov't. I have never had a call so abusive in nature before...I asked if the IRS had sent any letters in the mail because I had received none and said that I hadn't even receive a phone call telling me there was an issue. I asked specifically what they wanted from me and I quote "It is what you want from us. I am calling to help you personally avoid arrest today. I am not a person you want to question, I am a person who does the questioning. I can see you are already resisting this final chance at help. We are requesting that a warrant be drawn up for you now." I told them that I was calling my police department to find out more about this complaint against me. I called the police, they assured me it was a scam. I came home and called this number back out of curiosity and was shocked that the same Indian man who had spoken so horribly to me without giving his name actually answered the phone. I told him I had lodged a complaint official against the number, that the police were advising elderly people about this specific strategy of intimidation to obtain personal information and that I hope they were caught and prosecuted. He told me "It is you who are going to jail by the end of the day. The police are unaware because the warrant has just been sent out so know that you did this to yourself by not being cooperative". It scared me that this was not a call out only phone set up as most scams are and I did call back the police again to make sure the Paddy Wagon wasn't on its way...verbally abusive, scary, horrible human being making awful threats.
