It's been on the tv and online about these people with heavy accents fooling people out of their money. My police and sheriff's dept. said if you talk to them, tell them to send you paperwork with your signature and if they don't want to do that tell them to meet you at the police station. I did it and they finally stopped calling. Crooked companies sell your info if you do some things online. You will know if it is legitimate. You cannot be put in jail for this, only taken to civil court if you actually owe. If you actually owe, they will provide you with all the info. I don't even answer them now.
