If you get calls from any so-called charity... Be cautious as many collect funds for personal gain and donate just enough to satisfy their Fed 501(c)(3) classification. In Many cases useless items are sent to them and redistributed to others that need help. Ex. Mailing packages of useless military dress shoes that could not be used or packages of sample toiletry products which usually last 1 or 2 days. They keep the money they collect or donate a very minimal Dollar amount and give "fair market" value of unnecessary items shipped to others. Most likely they will also over inflate the value of items given and even brag about the material items given. But list nothing about the money they collect nor what they do with the money they collect and how much they keep for themselves. Do your research on charities 1st before donating. If you find they may be scamming please go here... https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-tege/divulge_all_ ... _to_the_irs.pdf and send in a report to the Government to follow up,
I got the same random call, while I was on the another business call. I tried to reply to the missed call number and got same message. "Thank you for calling the fundraising center. We are unable to take your call at this time." I am assuming an unwanted solicitation.
