same as above, but I did not get as far to where they request money. SCAM of the worst kind. 1, US Treasury is not a private phone in Seattle! 2. the number they say t call is 703 272 4699 with verification code NB217. Lots of complaints on this number of scams
Obvious scam.
I received a call from an unknown number saying they were with the US Treasury and was going to give me $8400, tax free. The gave me a number to call (206-462-5354) and a MR Robert Brown instructed me to go to Western Union where he would wire me the money. Before doing that I was instructed to go to Walgreens or a grocery store and purchase a "Green Dot Money Pak that would cover the $180.00 processing fee. Once I got the money pak I was to go to Western Union and call Mr Brown who would then send me the money. First of all I never heard of the US Government giving out "tax free" money and secondly they wouldn't request you to go to a grocery store to purchase a money pak..VERY fishy..
