Got a call from S.White (I asked him his name. Said he was from Federal ???? He gave me a reference number IRM 49726 ext. 01-05.Wanted my name and address. I told him to tell me who he was looking for he said he could not do that. He wanted to be sure that he was talking to the right person.. Told him to get lost. He insisted that there was a federal investigation and he needed that info. and insisted I give him my name and address. Why would someone from Seatle be calling me. I live in Canada don`t know why they would want to call me. I told him if he thought that I owed the IRS money he was mistaken. He got very upset and said the call was being recorded. He seemed to be getting hot under the collar so I told him take a cold shower. I hung up on him. Did not call back.

Fake IRS agent. I've known about this scam from day one. I couldn't understand them at first so I asked them to repeat it. Says "I am from the IRS". My reply was "no you are not, im aware of your scams, go away.". They hung up. LOL.
If anyone calls without identifying themselves or what "company" they work for, advise them you will not give any information until they identify themselves. If they refuse, hang up then report the caller with the phone number even if it is "spoofed".
Never confirm or give any information to anyone you do not know. True government officials will not make their first contact calling you. Depending on the situation, they will show up to your home and/or send you a certified letter. When they give their "badge" numbers on the phone, it's a lie.
