It's a robo call...that means that it is an auto-dialler. When they are calling you, they also are simulataneously calling many other potential victims. If you answer, the 'human' who is running to robo dialler may not get to the call before you hang up. They called me and I let it ring....23 times before the "human" finally came on and manually disconnected.
Apparently this is the cruise scam....."(blast of fog horn)...This is your captain calling!" then on the tape goes with the scam. At the end (if you endure that long) they tell you that you can have your number removed by pressing some number....how likely is that? I think it just tells them that someone is home and they try you on another number or sell your number for some other scam.
So far I have had cruise scam calls from these numbers:
818-923-1016
503-213-0469
503-457-1122
No doubt they want you to give a credit card number to "claim" your "free" cruise. Creepers.
Didn't answer the call. checked the number on google cause I didnt recognize it. Thanks for this info!! This website is a great idea...these scammers should be shut down... my number is a pay and talk cell phone I don't want calls from anyone unless they know me
