I received a call this afternoon saying I had won a US grant of $9,200. I was told to call the phone # 206-538-2576 with the ID number given to me.
In the last few months, I have received many of these calls saying that I will get somewhere around $9,000. Usually they want money in order to get the "grant". I know that to get a US grant, no payment is needed. I was also told, when I asked, that this 206 # was in Washington DC. When I looked online, it said the state of Washington. I live on a low, fixed income (SSD), and certainly need some money, so this type of call is very hard on me. Thank you.
At first a lady with an accent called me from no#202-815-8946 to state I was chosen to receive a grant amount of $9000.00. Then I was given an ID# AT104 and to call 206-538-2576. So I humor her and called the number which sounds like the same lady that contacted me. She asked for my ID# then stated she would western union my money to me all I had to do was bring my ID along with $300.00 to the nearest western union to receive my funds. Yes, this is definitely a scam!!
Received a call from 202-815-8555. Heavily accented lady informed me I was chosen to receive a grant from the US Treasury in the amount of $9000. All I had to do was call 206-538-2576 and given the ID#AT104 and I would receive my money by Western Union. I didn't call back.
