I do not answer unrecognized numbers, but other web sites contain reports about this number related to an Orlando resort telemarketing scam. Is it a coincidence that I received a call from this number today, after having received multiple calls and texts from Florida area codes within days of staying at a couple of Arizona motels? Maybe not.
Gosh and golly, I stayed at a resort that qualifies me to stay *for 75% off* at a resort in Orlando. Yeah, right. That's totally bogus and I will say that it's a very good quality recording because it starts out almost as a conversation. Her name is "Emily". Run away...
Yes - I got the same exact message! Very clever, acting like a real person having headset issues. I haven't been to a resort since I've had my current cell phone number, so I knew it was total crap.
Echoing the last person - this is a sophisticated automated message that starts off sounding like a real person. She pretends her headset was malfunctioning but it's really the system picking up on whether you answered your phone. Then it goes into a peppy spiel about 75% resorts in orlando. Ugh.
I recently stayed at a couple of Arizona motels (Flagstaff and Tucson). Within days, I started receiving unrecognized calls and texts from Florida area codes. The call this morning is from a Washington area code (which I did not answer, of course), but I'm not surprised to read here that it's a scam from Florida. This is why I pre-pay for a disposable, basic cell phone each year: it gives me a number to provide to businesses (including my employer) and anyone I don't trust. Only trusted friends and family get my smartphone number.
