Said IRS, called back to remove my number, man answered sounded mean and hung up on me. 206 area code of Seattle Washington, hehe, stupid idiots, wasting my time, get a life an a real job. IRS filing against me and I don't file taxes....
Got message stating it was an IRS filing lawsuit. I actually did call back assuming it was someone else and could clear my name. Rang and rang and no one answered. Then came here and saw it was a scam.
I just a call from this number, 206-822-9033, saying that it is a call from IRS to notify me that I was being sued by IRS and urged me to call back immediately.
I just received a similar message telling me this is my final notification and the "IRS" is going to file a lawsuit. Interestingly, I have had no previous correspondence from the "IRS" before this message.
I am a CPA and have dealt with the IRS on numerous audit issues over my career. The IRS does not call taxpayers using an automated message telling them they are filing a lawsuit. The IRS notifies taxpayers of any discrepancies or actions against their account through the U.S. Postal Service. There are also procedures the Service must follow to assess a deficiency and pursue a judgement or lien against a taxpayer and cold calling the taxpayer is not in the IRS collections manual.
As many have posted, Its a SCAM. You can disregard this message.
