Got a call saying I was selected by the government for a grant. To get this grant I had to go get a green dot visa for the activation fee (250.00). I then had to call him back while at a western Union location and he would transfer the money (7000.00) minus the fee. Reeks of a scam.
I just recieved this call and I havent did anything yet is this a scam or not it got to be because she was asking me to put money on a greendot card and call her back im not down unless you show up at my front door with a check and we go cash it together. That being ill keep looking for a job unless the president his self or governer send it to me
I received the same call yesterday morning, asking me to call this number, which they called the "treasury and finance department" or simply the "treasury department." The call came from 202-855-3333 (which now seems to have been disconnected). I held them on the line to try and get as much information as possible before filing a report with the FTC. I also called the local FBI field office, which confirmed that the FTC is the place to report these crimes.
Just got a call from someone telling me to call 206 855-3305 telling me I was receiving a grant from the government that I DONT have to pay back. They didn't mention a green dot card tho. I didn't give any information and I didn't give my address either. His phone was really distorted and the call was dropped after I got his information. Called the # he gave me but it said my call can't be completed as dialed.Its a big Scam!
