I received a call from this number just a few minutes ago. The caller ID showed the name of the caller as Bainbridge WA IRS and the number showed 206-855-6747. I didn't answer the phone but the caller left the following message:
"We are calling you concerning tax evasion, tax fraud, and the Federal Municipal Courthouse. Please be prepared to face the legal consequences as the issue of taxes are extremely serious and time sensitive. So in the next 24 hours we will be marking a lean on your assets and your bank accounts will be frozen due to continued in ability to settle your dues with the IRS. For further information immediately call us on our department number 1-206-855-6747 I repeat 1-206-855-6747. Thank you and have a great day."
The voice on the recording was computer generated and it appears this is a new number associated with an ongoing scam that spoofs numbers in the Bainbridge Island WA area see 206-855-6868 on this site for other examples of this scam. I have received other calls from 206-855-XXXX numbers on my phone over the past couple of years probably and that is how I discovered this website. I never answer them anymore and usually head straight to this site to see information on the numbers. This is the first time they actually left a message so I thought ZI could give some info back.
