Who called from 2068884157

Got the exact verbatim message this morning from deecannon within 20 minutes of posting my guitar for sale.  Why can't this guy be caught and stopped?

This person is a scammer that looks on craigslist for people to accept certified checks with a higher amount than the purchase and then wire the rest to thier shipper.  The checks will almost always be fake.  If they are not I suspect that it is part of a money laundering operation.

I received a query about an item I listed for sale on Craig's list.  Same doesn't quite make sense communication about sending me a check for more than the amount.

I don't get it.  If the check is good, I send.  If not, I don't send.  How do they plan to scam?  (if you know)

I posted our snowplow for sale in Vermont.  Here's a email I got from the person who gives this phone number:  From:

of Vechicle. My mode of payment will be via
Written Cashier's Check so I have no problem with
you waiting for the Check to go through at your
bank ... Im in no rush....All I need for now is your
name, address,city,state,zipcode and also phone
number.So that i will be able to mail the check to
your Mailing  address while you await the
delievery.Please proceed to delete the postage on
craigs web immediately..I will wait for your bank
to verify and clear the Check before we proceed
with Shipment. The Shipment will be handled by
my Company's  private Shipper Personally.I will
await your email with your information today so
that i can prepare and mail the check as soon as
possible.You can reach me at 206-888-4157.

It sounds fishy from the start--- talking about our used snowplow as tho' it is an actual vehicle - - - - I am glad I googled her phone number!  Even if these people give you a check that looks real and your bank may even cash it . . . once the bank realizes it was a forged check --- guess what?  You are the one who has to pay all the money to the back plus penalties.  BE VERY CAREFUL FOLKS!  DAng!  We need to sell our ole snowplow so we can get one that fits on our newer pickup before it start snowing . . . and that will be soon!

got a message from the same email "Carol Koenig <[email protected]>" in san francisco for a car - this is definitely a scammer email - thanks for posting and the heads up.
