They called me and left a voicemail message claiming that the "IRS" is filing a lawsuit against me". I called back as soon as I got the message and the call dropped 3 out of 4 attempts before I was able to get an "agent" and have dialogue to the end. What I noticed is that even though they had my name and address (probably from where I thought I was making general "insurance quote" inquiries on-line) all of the people I spoke with before the disconnection spoke with foreign accents, sounding either Asian or Hispanic. The last one agreed to send me a letter when I couldn't identify a reason for their call. So far nothing has come to support the phone call. Anothet reason this call was suspicious that I didn't notice at first was that the voicemail message as well as the people at the phone number referred to themselves as agents for the "IRS", instead of the Internal Revenue Service.
