These people are calling saying that they work for the federal government grant department. They state that the govt randomly chose 1500 people each year and give them 7000 in free money. I know this cant be real. They also state that in order to get the money you must put a $199 on a green dot card. That was a red flag for me.

caller claims to be a from US Government and wants to give me $7000 as part of the American Reinvestment and recovery act and wants me to call back to his financial department at 206-973-3993....gee, think it might be a scam?
Ridiculous promise of $7000 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of America 2009 stating that I am 1 of 1500 people chosen to receive a grant. Actually they seem to want bank account info to probably get into your account. Be careful. The background sounds like a call center. Just seems like fraud!
Same message as the rest of the reports. $7,000 in 30-40 minutes if I call back this number 206-973-3993. I know if I call the number, they will either want bank account information or credit card information. Won't be calling, obviously. It is amazing that some people will fall for this.
I got a phone call telling me I had been selected to receive a loyalty grant in the amount of $7,000 from the UST and to call 206/973-3993 in order to get the details. i called and was told to get a green dot card in the amount of $210 (which would be refunded) and call him back and he would walk me through the process of getting my wired $7,000 from Western Union after I acquired the green dot card!!!
