Ignore this woman. I received the same phone call, she threatened me in the same manner. I called the State Attorney Generals office in Houston TX 713-755-5800. This person has no affiliation with their office and they do not file charges such as this in their office. She will never send you paperwork or anything else that says you owe anything. I have been battling this same company for over a year and cannot get them to stop calling me. I have turned them in for fraud several times, I am so over it. Whatever you do not pay them, do not give them that satisfaction. Just hang up on them and ignore them. They have been threatening me over a year to arrest me, charge me with a felony, I tell them bring it on!!! It has never happened and never will.
I received a call from this number on Monday. It was a woman by the name of Sue W. Hightower who says she is the Division Director of the Fraud and Worthless Check Unit for the State Attorney General's office. She warned me that I would have to send $963.77 by Moneygram only....no other method of payment would be accepted....and I needed to send it to a company called JJFS which stood for Johnson and Johnson Financial Services. She told me that criminal charges were pending and a Texas Magistrate named Julia Union had already signed the order. The only way they could stop action was if I were to send the Moneygram right away. She said the money was because of a loan that I had years ago with Ace Cash Express that was never paid. My husband and I knew that it had been paid, so we told her that we would go through our records to show proof that it had been paid. Meanwhile, we also searched for the Fraud and Worthless Check Unit at the State Attorney General's office and found nothing. A google search for both her name and the Texas Magistrate Julia Union produced nothing at all. We were able to find our records, showing that the Ace Cash Express loan was paid. The total was $532.00.....not $963.77. When I called the number back to tell Ms. Hightower what we had found, she said could no longer pull up my information in her computer because the case had been thrown out. When I asked for the street address for her office, she told me it was at 1201 Franklin St. but let me know that it was not a walk in office. I asked if she would send me the paperwork and documentation of the case, and she said she would not because it was being held as evidence. I don't know what to believe.
