They are a fraud... They are calling to let people know that they are "Microsoft" and you have a problem with you windows "XP 7", and they are the computer fixers for this area.
Just spent some time talking to a guy with very thick East Indian accent who called himself Ben Parker and he said he was calling to say that our Windows operating system was sending a message saying that it was not operating properly and that our system was only operating at 50%. So I asked him to satisfy wanting to know if this was legitimate I asked for the company name and phone number and he said the company name was International PC Support and the phone number was 315-285-4200. I asked him which one of our computers was sending the message and he couldn't answer and transfered me to a manager who would be able to help me. The manager (also with a very thick accent) came on and I asked him to tell me which of our computers was sending the message and then asked him if he could tell me what brand of computer it is, HP, Acer, Toshiba, MAC and he told me that it didn't matter. I told him that I did not think it was legitimate and before I finished telling him that I wouldn't be giving him any information, he hung up on me.
It's really funny! I guess these BOZOS don't realize just how stupid they look with the phony "American" names and the thick "Sand [***]" accents.
The key to this is WASTE THEIR TIME!!! make up fake MAC id's, ask where to find your IP address and make that up too.Be as computer illiterate as you possibly can.Ask STUPID questions..like "does my Printer have to be on, does it have to have paper in it? after you have him on the fone for 10 minutes ask him what the message on the screen "hard disk fail" means :)
Tell him your medical problems, that your bag is leaking.Take the phone into the bathroom, take a dump and keep him on the line.I love to play that im in my 80's or drunk,stupid,senile and hard of hearing. When he tells you to do something, tell him about your dog, what you had for lunch, ask him to be your friend as all of yours have died.
You get the picture! Record the calls! play them at parties or post them on youtube! Have FUN with these [***] :)
