Keep getting calls from number. Keep thinking its overseas friends. Thank you for letting me know not to answer. they have been calling for 4 days straight and several times.
They called me at 10:31am and 10:49am today while I was at my appt. at the VA hospital here in SA. I didn't answer it either time and they left no message. It seems we should be able to figure this person out. Maybe I'm a bit harsh, but then we can cut off their hands.
This number is a general number that shows up on caller ID when receiving a call from any of several thousand people at Fort Sam Houston. I tried to call my brother a little while ago, but he was unable to answer the phone at the time. When he tried to call back, he got a "disconnect" message. I only know because I called him again and he answered a few minutes later...after having read comments on this site. This is not one single person calling being a jerk (although I am sure there are those, too), but rather could be anyone from the military base. If you know someone who works out here, or you do business with the military, or might have a family member that was arrested, I would recommend answering the phone. On behalf of everyone out here, I apologize for the jerk(s) who use this feature to harass people, when in fact it is designed to protect government workers.
This could also be the hospital trying to verify or change appointments you have, or prescriptions, or many other things. However, if someone calls to harass and or makes threats, it is a criminal offense. Call the police, and they can contact the authorities on the post. They ARE able to trace the call for investigative purposes. Please just make sure you are actually receiving threats, not just someone being rude and therefore violating no laws.
