I received a text message informing me of a security alert. Called the number as I have in the past had dealings with Chase Bank, the automated voice was very choppy and cut out every other word. press one for reactivation and enter the 16 digit card number. Interesting as I do not have a Chase Bank account or card number. Hung up and replied with a text to stop texting me as I do not have an account there. Looked this number up, comes out as a verizon cell phone number, since when does a banking institute use cell phones? Have contacted Chase Bank about this and they were clueless as to what was going on.

This is a scam. I called them and entered 16 bogus numbers, because I do not have an account with Chase Bank...anyhoot, the recording said that my account was deactivated due to suspicious activity and then after entering those bogus numbers the recording said my account, that I do not have, was reactivated. They probably thought they got a hit, but I called again, entered another set of bogus account numbers and the recording said your account has been reactivated....they record your info when you enter numbers and if you enter a true chase account number they got you! DON'T DO IT!!!!
