Received a call from 1-210-308-2648. CID was V1081832570002. I gave it the old one ring pickup and immediate hang up. Anyone with a caller id as above is always suspect with me and I never answer those calls.
You need to make other arrangements for calls, and to make sure your father does not get scammed again, because these criminals will call again and again. The only thing you can do right now is what you have done and that is to notify the credit card company to decline the charge when it comes through. I would also ask them for a new credit card number. without any other information on who actually called, there is really no way to make any other complaints.
The elderly are especially susceptible to phone scams, be it from decreased mental capacity, or having been brought up in a more trusting environment.
You may have to take over his finances. These are hard acts to face, but it would be much better than having him lose his life savings and dignity to some low life criminal.
You might want to cancel your dads credit card. My dad lived to be 96 and for some reason the elderly get confused and fooled, too bad. In his day my pop was sharp as a tack. Then again maybe the card number will come to nothing. You can call the company and apply for a new card for your dad to be safe. I have read your credit score drops by 100 points temporarily when you drop a credit card then score goes back up. Chances are your dad will not need immediate perfect credit.

They called my land line. Caller ID just read, "Unknown Name". I don't answer unknown names. No message was left. I wish they'd just go away……nuisance.
