Stated they were calling for Kansas State Troopers charity. When I requested that they remove me from their call list and not call me again, "Steve" got indignant, rude, and refused to listen to my request. I ended up just hanging up on him.
Like Bob, I'm on the Do Not Call list, and the caller ID showed them as "Westeast Design".
Never give donations to a stranger who calls you. Might be a scammer. Might be a legit independent fund raiser who keeps 99% for themselves and sends 1% to the charity. Best to donate directly to the charity so they will get 100% of your donation.
Identified as "Westeast Design." Called at 8:30 at night while I was on the phone with another call. When I dialed back, I got the message, "Hello and thank you very much for your call. In order for us to handle your call properly, please call back from the telephone number you were originally contacted on." It WAS the same phone. Also, I am on the federal Do Not Call list.

The answering machine picked up the call and there was no message. A callback to the number on the cell phone got a recording of a man's voice that said " to handle the call properly I should call back from the number that was originally contacted". How did they know it wasn't and why do they care......if it's legitimate? They never identified themselves or their purpose in calling.
