Woman who I could barely understand first wanted to speak with the Director of Marketing (wrong title and the name didn't match), then started asking for other people (and her spelling the names didn't help). Finally told her that I could tell she was fishing and hung up. Sales calls have increased in the past two weeks; it's the last-minute Christmas push!
Called asking to speak with one of our IT managers. When asked what it was regarding she refused to tell me anything specific. Just said she had information to give him so I said that I could take the information for him. She refused to speak with me, saying over and over that she needed to "speak with him only". Definitely a sales call.
Somehow a bunch of these guys got info that this one guy in our company is an IT manager and he is not. In fact, this guy doesn't need to receive any calls through the main line. So whenever people like these guys ask for him, I know it's pretty scammy and not to trust them.
