I also got a call on 1/3/2013 from Geeks for PC, from this no. and used the name of Frank Martin. Accent is from NIgeria or some other country. I have never been contacted by Microsoft, they are difficult to contact. So, this set off alarms in my head. He has called several times in the last month, claiming they have received error messages from my computer, telling them someone is tryiing to hack my computer. What pisses me off is that I was sleeping soundly when I got the call, this last time.
Total Scammers. They wanted me to enter "eventvr" in my start search to check for hackers. I wouldn't do it. The guy who said his name was John Thomposon but could barely speak english told me he was from Microsoft and and that a company from Germany was trying to hack into my computer. I asked for his supervisor since he couldn't fax me any credentials and all of the sudden Supervisor John/ another mideastern accent was on the phone. I love messing with these people and I think when they finally figured out I was on to them, they hung up. Game over.....
But if my grandma had gotten the call???? She would have fallen for it bless her heart.
I have been called by Geeks for PC (with a blocked number) at least 25 times in the last few months saying there problems with my computer. I asked for a number so I could check into this and this is the number that they gave me. I keep telling them to remove my number but thet keep calling. This is harrassment! What legal actions can I take?
