I get this call on a regular basis. Caller ID shows different people's names and the phone #s are from various places, so both are being spoofed. The call starts with several seconds of unintelligible noises. Then a male voice says something like "I'm making this call to check the audio. Please don't hang up...." and goes on for several minutes from there. If I let it play, it will finally end with an automated voice directing me to press various numbers although it's not clear what for. I'm baffled as to the point of this call especially since it begins with unintelligible noises and continues with someone indicating that he's testing audio.

I had an experience like this but it was a call I was expecting. All of the "noise" and audio testing were part of the set-up for an audio conference call. Is is possible that someone has the wrong number for setting up a conference call? Just throwing it out there.
