The same caller called and left a voice message saying that someone is filling a lawsuit against me, but never said who the person filling against me was.
called this back after receiving a dead air call. Answerer with a heavy indian/pakistani accent identified the business as the 'internal revenue service'. He kept demanding what number I was calling from. I told him I can't talk to
IRS in India.
I did not answer the call, but found a message on my answering machine when I got home. It was a computer generated call saying the IRS was planning a lawsuit against me. Probably used the computer generated voice to cover that their real voices were foreign with strong accents. I have not called them back. Knew the call wasn't legitimate because the real IRS would have left a case number as reference for me to give them when I called back. I received the call at my home in Sprngfield, Oregon.
I did not answer the call, but they left a computerized voicemail saying the IRS was planning a lawsuit against me. Agree as above probably used the computer generated voice to cover that their real voices were foreign with strong accents. Did not call them back cause I can tell the call was fake because IRS always leaves a case number to give them to refer to when I were to call back.
Yep, same exact thing happened to me as above. A computerized voice left me a message saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me (from # 213-255-0887). I called back a few times - each time it rang perpetually without going to a voicemail or prompter (shady). I called back again a half hour later and the guy with the Indian/Pakistani accent answered and asked for: my full name and how to spell it, date of birth, and last four digits SSN. I gave him some of it, then demanded he tell me what this was about. He claimed I made a mistake on my taxes last year and that this was my last chance to fix it otherwise there was going to be a warrant out for my arrest. I then asked him to tell me specifically what the issue with it was or I wasn't going to give him anymore info - then he hung up the phone.
