Not a legitimate call from Verizon. Asked for password and last 4 digits of social... When called Verizon directly, they said there was no record of call, no balance due, no reason to call, and no reason to try our home number before primary cell.
Interestingly, main credit card hacked the same day, and needed to be cancelled
They claim they are calling form Verizon. If answered, automated message will ask if you are so and so (name) and if correct, press 1. When 1 is pressed, live agent answers the phone and asks you about the outstanding balance. Now, in my case, because of moving and changing of the bank, the payment was late 2 days but settled as soon as the correct bank information was provided over the internet. My bill was all paid off. I had no reason to receive any call from Verizon. So when a live agent answered the phone and stated "This call can be monitored or recorded...", I told her "Actually, IT IS being recorded from my end. I should have no reason to be getting this collecting call." As soon as I said that, the agent responded by saying that she can no longer help me but has to direct the call to the supervisor. I told her to do so, but after couple of minutes of holding me on the line, she said that they can't help me anymore and that I have to call them back to get further assistance. I told her not to hang up because I know if I call back the same number, only an automated machine will pick up, asking you to pay the balance over the phone or online. She continued suggesting that I call the company back, but when I told her that I was going to report this case to the police, SHE HUNG UP!!!!
