Is this a scam? Kelly Scott phone on June 4, 2015 and claimed that I owed $998 to Westgate Resorts for delinquent timeshare package purchased in 2012. I have no memory or records for any such purchase. I contacted Westgate Resorts and they have no records or knowledge of me. I received the same threats as the person above. I am waiting for my credit card company to contact me. I think that this is fraud.
I received a similar call and reported them to the FTC at ftc.gov. They threatened to put a charge on my master card for $4998 if I did not negotiate with them to purchase a discounted package. I am also planning to report them wherever I can. This is very bogus. The woman was rude and very persistent. I told her that what she was doing was illegal. She countered with trying to say how she was trying to help me get out of a jam and that if i did not comply there would be lawyer fees and I would have to dispute the charge with Master Card to get it removed. This was high pressure fraud!!!
