Thanks for the phone number I recently got a new phone number and received several calls from that comapny. I called the number you gave and spoke with the person that answered the phone, she informed me they have many collection accounts with my new number and said she will have my number blocked and remove my number from their list.
Thanks again and you might want to try calling them.
i just got a call too, they were asking for my dad. if this is a debt collection agency, doesn't that mean that they are trying to collect on unpaid debt that is out there? if you didn't owe $$$ then they wouldn't be trying to contact you, am i right?
No, you're wrong, as the misplaced call to you should help demonstrate. You don't need a valid debt or a derogatory trade line on your credit reports to be hassled by debt collectors. They call third parties to alleged debtors all the time for permitted skip tracing purposes, or often pretending it's a trace to annoy and shame an intended target whose location is already known. Runaway skip tracing is arguably the most common problem the debt industry creates.
As to the "unpaid debt", it is often not actually owed to anyone but a lump of unclaimed profit which has been cut loose as junk debt for a deep discount after the original creditor has written off the full face value.
Silly me, I forgot to mention all the calls for debt already paid, accounts created through faulty billing, debt discharged in bankruptcy, and of course "debt" which never existed yet collected through illegal threats. Then you have the calls to workplaces, relatives, ex-spouses, school age children, neighbors, anyone with a slightly similar name, anyone who might once have served dinner to you, anyone who once breathed the same air .... I'm sure I left out a few.
It should never be assumed that a debt collector has a valid reason to call or a valid debt at issue.
The person calling from this number has called me almost every other day for about a month. They (guessing it’s a group) has not left a voicemail. However when I did pick up and listen the message prerecorded message asks for Angel. I have no connection or even know of a person named Angel.
The other thing mentioned on the phone message was to press One if are Angel and 2 if you are not. I hung up after that - my guess is that as soon as they know that you are picking up on the other end they keep on going after you.
If this number comes up I would suggest ignoring it - I just have the phone number saved in my phone as "Don't Pick Up".
