Did not answer when showed up on caller id, but am reminded of a recent news story about how the caller id number can be faked or spoofed. Makes me wonder if that is happening here - would make it difficult to register meaningful complaints. See info below.

They often call 3 to 4 times a day, leaving some bogus "extended waranty" message after a 5 - 10 second pause. BTW, I own nothing which still has a warranty.
Automated prerecorded call to my home. Upon my answer, no person, was prerecorded. Mentioned ? consumer services and mentioned credit. Hung up. (I do not have or use any type of credit.) My caller ID showed 239-213-1290 but no company name. Internet shows area 239 is FLorida. No reverse lookup via number. Florida is known to be a source of all kinds of scams, a source of spam, etc. I have blocked nearly every IP number in Florida because of spam originations (technical knowledge with my own website I can block IP's). I am also on FCC do not call list. Reported today to FCC their form 1088, they violated the law. Their phone number given by caller id is probably non-working which is the usual case.
Got call yesterday afternoon. Caller ID said it was 239-213-1290. Recording (man) said they were calling about my credit card and important to talk to them about drastically reducing interest rate on my credit card. When I called number back it was out of service. Why would they call and then not answer. I think they were just identifying working numbers for further mischief. I am on national do not call list.
