Caller (with Indian accent) said he was a Microsoft Certified Engineer and that my computer had been identified as downloading viruses and malware, asked my to turn on my computer, and he would talk me through how to get rid of it. I asked him, since he had identified my computer, what my IP address was. That stumped him.
He was trying to get me to download something that would do something like make my PC part of a botnet or record financial identification information.
Called while we were gone, and did not leave a voice-mail message. I Googled Altima Title, and it is a legitimate business in Naples, FL. I believe that the first report above is correct, in that they are spoofing the title company's number.
