This company called me saying I owe on a credit card that I opened and paid on until 2012 from Providian Bank. I have NEVER held a credit card with that bank and if it was something that I was paying on until 2012 and stopped it would show in my credit report - which is clean because I just pulled it 3 days ago. This is some collection agency using illegal practices to try to get you to pay a debt you probably don't owe. I reported them to my state's attorney general and blocked the number.

Did some additional digging online and this is a known scam. If they are calling you, report them to your state attorney general.
