This morning got 3 calls on my landline – 2 times the caller ID said "unknown caller" and in the 3rd time it said "blocked call" (I have an answering machine here and they didn't leave a message, but I did hear noise and telemarketer sounding rustling in the background each time before he hung up).
On my landline, I have the number to my cell phone and they called back twice. The 2nd time they actually left a message!
It was an – let's just say, "uneducated" sounding guy telling me I had won 2nd prize of (something about) $2.5 million or a Mercedes… I couldn't understand the model it sounded like he said 2020 model (maybe called from the future?) :-)
Although he blocked his calls from caller ID every time, he did give me the number (the one I listed here) as that's the only thing I have.
I've either given up a life-changing prize or simply made a decision not to call back a scammer… But I didn't call him back :-) Last note here: I would suspect that if somebody really won more than 1,000,000 dollars or a brand-new Mercedes of ANY model (even if it's not from the future!) that they would probably put someone at or near the top of a major company on the phone call and he or she would sound VERY intelligent and a tad more friendly than this guy.
The other telling thing was, at the end of the call he did say "God bless you" – now although this is very nice, something tells me a major company giving away this kind of money would not want to step on anyone's toes when it comes to religion and probably would leave that off of the conversation (of the 1st telephone message left, anyway). Oh, and the company probably wouldn't block their number either.
