It is a debt collector - National Credit Adjusters. They are junk debt buyers; they will buy uncollected debts, probably for 5 to 10 cents per dollar in debt (example: $1,000.00 debt for $50.00 to $100.00). They buy old debts that could not be collected from creditors or other debt collectors, and they try to collect the junk debts bought. They are very pushy, aggressive and try to intimidate a person with legal action threats so that the person called will make a quick payment over the phone. Do NOT make a payment over the phone to them. Ask the person calling you for their REAL name, full name, and tell them to validate the debt, by sending you copies of your contract with your signature. They must stop calling you while you ask for a debt validation, and must send you documents that prove the debt. Chances are that they do not have all of the documents necessary to to prove full and legitimate ownership of the debt. If they tell you that they sent them and you did not reply to them, chances are that they are lying to you and trying to pressure you. Tell them the following: "The telephone call is being recorded for evidence of legal issues; You have not received any type of mail/documents regarding the ALLEGED debt that you do NOT recognize; All telephone calls are INCONVENIENT, do all future communication in writing."
