A call from 239-690-6134 rcv'd approx 1:20 PM on Feb 05, 2008. Caller claimed to have obtained my number from a Walmart promotion in which I used my credit card. Note I rarely shop at Walmart due to the lack of staff and help. I'm not sure how that would work anyway, but this is why a scam is easy to detect... the answers are full of holes. He was difficult to understand due to a heavy Indian (dot, not feather) accent. Apparently, I have "won" a large sum of money. I asked for a call back # and he said it would not be necessary to call him back. I asked his name, replied with Kevin Berry with National Commercial Bank. I advised that this # was listed on a scam alert site and he assured me he was legit. I aksed him mail me the documents at the address he had listed and he offered to fax me a copy of the check, but that would mean a higher "deposit fee" would be charged if I didn't claim the prize that moment. This is the first mention of the "fee". He asked again if I wanted to pay that higher fee and I said yes and to fax me the paperwork. Kevin said he would fax them soon, wished me a blessed day and hung up. No fax rcv'd as of yet.
