I received a call from 239-938-7601 this morning at 9:16am saying that there was a criminal case filed against me, case #KH76295 and that I needed to get my attorney and call 202-899-9017 immediately. If I didn't return their call, the case against me would proceed rapidly. Needless to say, I didn't call the number, nor will I.
There was a message left on my home answering machine from this number. It was a robo message with a female voice. Very glitch computer-generated message. Talks about criminal charges filed against me but does not specify my name at all. Threatens something imminent if I do not return the call. I'm lucky that I know better about these things, but I think about senior citizens, people with clarity issues/mental illness, even young people who are not aware of these scams. Anyway, just know this is complete nonsense. Don't pick up the phone, don't call them back, and know that if any criminal charges or other issues are filed against you, you won't be notified by a robo message on your phone or answering machine. The police would actually show up at your door. Smh....

I received a call from 239-938-7601, I was unable to answer the call, a robot female voice left a message stating "criminal charges have been filed against you", left a case number starting with CH- and left a return number 360-347-1809. I returned the call no one answers.
I received a threatening phone call this afternoon from someone who claimed he was from the IRS. He mentioned I had been warned twice about having committed fraud in the filing of last year's taxes, and he was going to have me arrested, my credit cards, and bank account blacklisted. I was puzzled and asked him to please send me the alleged notifications since I had never received them. This man, with a heavy Indian accent, refused to give me his name and threatened to have me arrested by the police if I, as much as hang up on him, which I did once, but he was bold enough to call back again. This was clearly a scam as the IRS will not resort to this kind of harrassment to anyone. Please take note of this incident and beware of people like this individual trying to get money from the unsuspecting victims.
