These people who pretend to be Microsoft are hackers. Please do not entertain them. They will take remote access of your computer and plant a virus and then will eventually charge you to remove that virus. They also will steal your personal information and lock you out of your email account and to get that account back you will be asked to pay a huge amount.
So please stay out from such scams!

these people calling me and showing me viruses and telling me i need to fix my computer all this is a big scam which is running they are calling from it solution with a heavy ascent. wheni called there number no one replys on this number
The same thing just happened to me: i.e., we have been contracted by Microsoft to repair the virus that is sending error reports through Windows back to Microsoft. They attempt to remotely take over your computer through a downloaded "Teamviewer Program". The incident was reported to and confirmed as fraudulent by Microsoft Security.
When queried about who he worked for I asked for a call back number. This is the one he gave: 281-201-0307. I called it back and did get a generic answering message. I left a voice mail stating that if I was ever contacted again by Microsoft IT I would be reporting them for a full investigation. The caller had a heavy accent and was difficult to understand. Seriously hope no one falls for this scam. He was in a room where you could hear others in the background.
